Registration is now open for Run Wild Retreats’ second annual Trail Running and Wellness Retreat for Women, presented by Run Like a Mother: The Book, at the historic Vagabond Ranch in the Colorado Rockies, August 18-21, 2011.

The four-day, three-night retreat includes trail runs of three to 12 miles, catered gourmet meals, yoga classes designed for runners, running-form evaluation, presentations and discussions with experts on trail-running technique, natural running, sports nutrition, injury prevention, choosing the right gear and how to train for a race.

This inspiring and educational retreat provides practical tips for balancing health and fitness goals with a busy lifestyle. “Trail running is a not only a healthy alternative to road running, but spending time in nature eliminates stress and rejuvenates your energy,” says Elinor Fish, owner of Run Wild Retreats and a former editor at Trail Runner magazine.

This year’s retreat is co-hosted by the authors of Run Like a Mother: How to Get Moving¬—and not Lose your Family, Job or Sanity, Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea. They are experienced marathoners and frequent contributors to Runner’s World, Yoga Journal, Self, Health and many more magazines.

The retreat package is $895 for a shared room ($975 for a private room) and includes three nights at Vagabond Ranch (a 3.5-hour drive from Denver International Airport), meals, wine and cheese welcome reception, group runs on scenic alpine trails, yoga classes, presentations, a goodie bag and raffle prizes.
